...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR 10/09/2018 TORNADO EVENT...

A supercell thunderstorm developed along the Johnson and Franklin
County line and moved north-northeast over far western Johnson
County. This thunderstorm produced two tornadoes, one just south
of Interstate 40, with another developing just north of Interstate
40. The tornadoes were similar in strength, with the one south of
the interstate rated a strong EF-0, and the tornado south of the
interstate rated a weak EF-1. The tornado was confirmed by video
and ground surveys performed by Johnson County Emergency Management
and meteorologists from the National Weather Service in Tulsa, OK.
