...River Statement For The Tallapoosa River...

.River levels remain elevated along the Tallapoosa River at the
Tallapoosa Water Plant. However, levels are gradually falling and
are forecast to continue falling. Any overflow along the river
should be of minor nature.


The Tallapoosa River at The Tallapoosa Water Plant.
* At 7:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 17.2 feet.
* Action stage is 15 feet.
* Flood stage is 25 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 14.4 feet Monday
  evening.
* Impact...At 15 feet...Low areas near the junction with the Coosa
  River begin to overflow. Extensive flooding of low lying areas
  begins between US 231 and the river at stages of 15 to 25 feet.


Another statement will be issued by Thursday morning, or sooner if
conditions warrant.
