However, levels are expected to remain below established flood stages, and any overflow along the river should be of minor nature. The Alabama River at Montgomery. * At 7:30 PM CDT Monday the stage was 32.7 feet. * Action stage is 26.0 feet. * Flood stage is 35.0 feet. * Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 24.5 feet Saturday evening. * Impact...At 35.0 feet...Extensive flooding of low lands in the area occurs. Another statement will be issued by Tuesday evening, or sooner if conditions warrant. Please stay tuned to NOAA Weather radio or your local media for later statements concerning this event. It is emphasized that these forecasts are based on rainfall that has already occurred and on additional rainfall expected during the next 48 hours. If more rainfall than is currently forecast occurs it may become necessary to revise these forecasts upward. $$
