.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...
Critical fire weather conditions exist this afternoon mainly for
southern Lincoln county as relative humidity drops between 11-15
percent. Westerly winds will produce wind gusts up to 45 mph thus
these conditions are favorable for rapid fire spread. Widespread
westerly winds are expected across the region this afternoon
producing wind gusts up to 60 mph for the plains and 75 for parts of
the foothills and mountains. Relative humidities recover near 45
percent for the plains and above 65 for the mountains and valleys.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday through Friday...
Critical fire conditions will be in place, on Tuesday,over southern
Lincoln county with elevated fire conditions over the rest of the
plains due to gusty winds and low humidity. Elsewhere there will
be periods of snow in the mountains.

Drier conditions will develop in the mountains on Wednesday with
decreasing wind across all of the area.  Temperatures will be
slight below normal.  Thursday and Friday will be unsettled with
below normal temperatures along with a chance of precipitation.
