An amplified upper trough will bring valley light rain and higher
elevation wet snow to the Northern and Eastern part of the state
this morning. A light snow accumulation of up to a few inches will
occur on the ridges across the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania.

Temperatures to start to day today will be in the low to mid 30s
over the higher terrain of the north, and in the upper 30s to
40s elsewhere. Highs this afternoon will average 6 to 10 degrees
below normal, ranging from the 40s across the northern Mountains
to the low and mid 50s over the Southern half of the state.

Winds will remain quite strong and gusty from the west-northwest
through late this afternoon, particularly across the Western half
of Pennsylvania, where a few gusts up to 55 mph are expected.

Drier conditions with clearing skies will move in for this
afternoon into Sunday. Temperatures will return to between 8 and
13 degrees above normal Sunday as winds become southerly at 15 to
25 mph. The next chance for showers and thunderstorms, some strong
to potentially severe, arrives late Sunday afternoon into Sunday
night as low pressure races southeast from the Great Lakes
region.
