FEBRUARY 2024 BROUGHT WARMER THAN NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND NEAR
NORMAL PRECIPITATION TO NORTH CENTRAL WASHINGTON. THE FIRST HALF OF
THE MONTH WAS RELATIVE QUIET WITH JUST PERIODS OF LIGHT RAIN AND
HIGH ELEVATION SNOW. ON THE 15TH A COLDER WEATHER SYSTEM IMPACTED
THE AREA BRINGING WIDESPREAD SNOW TO THE EAST SLOPES OF THE CASCADES
INTO THE WENATCHEE AREA WITH 1 TO 3 INCHES. ON THE 25TH A STRONG
COLD FRONT DELIVERED WINDY CONDITIONS TO THE REGION, WITH A PEAK
WIND GUST OF 47 MPH AT THE WENATCHEE AIRPORT AND 45 MPH IN EPHRATA.
THE FRONT DELIVERED HEAVY SNOW TO THE CASCADE CREST WITH ADDITIONAL
ROUNDS OF HEAVY SNOW TO CLOSE OUT THE MONTH.  STEVENS PASS REPORTED
A 72 HOUR SNOW TOTAL OF 36 INCHES ENDING THE MORNING OF THE 28TH.
