The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southern St. James Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
  Northern Assumption Parish in southeastern Louisiana...

* Until 645 AM CDT.

* At 551 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over
  Napoleonville, moving northeast at 20 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Napoleonville, Supreme, North Vacherie, Paincourtville, Belle Rose,
  and Convent.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature`s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
