...TEST TORNADO DRILLS TODAY IN MINNESOTA AND WISCONSIN...

Minnesota and Wisconsin are conducting test tornado drills today at
145 pm and 645 pm. The National Weather Service is activating the
Routine Weekly Test code on NOAA Weather Radio. Many areas in the
two states are activating their outdoor warning sirens as well as
sending out text messages or emails for those who have signed up
with their county or city. Social media posts are also being sent.
The tornado code will not be used at all.

You may hear from local systems such as reverse 9-1-1 if you have
signed up, outdoor warning sirens, NOAA weather radio, TV, or other
methods. Take the time now to decide where you would take shelter.
Remember to plan for the various places you may be if a real warning
occurs. Also make sure you have at least two ways to get a warning.
Outdoor warning sirens are not enough and may not always activate or
be heard. Get a NOAA weather radio. Sign up for warning notices
through your local county or city.

The drills today are part of Severe Weather Awareness Week in
Minnesota and Wisconsin. They are just a test to remind you of what
you should do if there was a real warning. For more information,
check out our website weather.gov or our social media pages.
