...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT CENTRAL MOORE AND SOUTHWESTERN
LEE COUNTIES THROUGH 1030 PM EDT...

At 935 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles northwest of Hoffman, or 12 miles west of Southern Pines,
moving northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Sanford, Southern Pines, Carthage, Pinehurst, Whispering Pines,
Cameron, Lemon Springs, Gum Springs, Cumnock, and Tramway.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for central North
Carolina.
