Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
233 PM CDT Tue Apr 24 2018

.DISCUSSION...

After isolated showers dissipate late this evening, anticipate a
generally quiet weather night with patchy fog development near
rivers, lakes, and valleys late tonight into early Wednesday
morning. On Wednesday, anticipating little in the way of rainfall
until late in the evening. With northerly transport winds around
10-15 MPH and mixing heights above 4000 feet, dispersion should be
fair to generally good. Then, precipitation returns again
starting over NW AL late Wednesday evening and increasing across
all of northern Alabama on Thursday as an upper level disturbance
moves across the region. There may also be isolated thunderstorms,
especially over areas south of the Tennessee River.

Current predicted rainfall amounts on Thursday should be between
0.25-0.75 inches. Dry weather should return briefly beginning on
Thursday night before the next system arrives on Friday. The good
thing about the Friday system is it should be quick moving and
bring isolated showers during the day. The rest of the weekend
through Monday then looks dry and warm.

Fog potential over the next few days: patchy fog is possible
along rivers, lakes, and valley late tonight into early Wednesday
morning.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
