FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
533 AM EDT Sat May 4 2024

...Approaching low pressure system brings rain...

.DISCUSSION: A weak low pressure system moving northeast from the
Central Plains toward the UP this morning will increase cloud
cover and gradually increase chances for showers over the west. As
a cold front progresses eastward through tonight, a line of
showers moves with it. While southeast winds look to gust to 20
mph ahead of the cold front, minimum RHs look to mainly remain
above 40% keeping fire weather concerns low. RHs look to make a
full recovery overnight with northwest gusts in the wake of the
cold front up to 20 mph. High pressure builds in over the Great
Lakes for Sunday and Monday resulting in some warmer temps and
drier RHs; winds do not appear to be a fire weather concern at
this time for the start of next week. Some lake breezes are likely
in the afternoon on Sunday. Chances for showers return on Tuesday
accompanied by some breezy winds.
