SNOWFALL SET AT NWS MARQUETTE YESTERDAY...JANUARY 22ND...

YESTERDAY, JANUARY 22ND, SNOWFALL OF 8.5 INCHES WAS RECORDED AT THE
MARQUETTE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE LOCATED IN NEGAUNEE
TOWNSHIP. THIS SET A NEW RECORD SNOWFALL FOR THE DATE. THE PREVIOUS
RECORD WAS 6.3 INCHES SET IN 1980. THE SNOWFALL MELTED DOWN TO 1.15
INCHES OF WATER, SETTING A NEW RECORD PRECIPITATION AMOUNT FOR THE
DATE. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 0.74 INCHES SET IN 1997.
