...ELEVATED WILDFIRE POTENTIAL TODAY FOR SOUTH CENTRAL UPPER
MICHIGAN DUE TO A COMBINATION OF GUSTY WINDS...DRY AND WARM
CONDITIONS...

Gusty southwest winds as high as 20 mph, combined with dry and
warm conditions along with a lack of recent significant rainfall
will lead to elevated wildfire potential today across south central
Upper Michigan. Open fields will be most vulnerable to fire starts
as they have already lost all their snow pack and are drying out.

Do not burn today! Immediately report any wildfires to local
emergency services by calling 911.

For complete details about current burn restrictions, visit
www.dnr.state.mi.us/burnpermits, or by calling 866-922-2876.
