Dry conditions with gusty onshore winds will continue the elevated
fire weather threat today, especially for the interior, higher
terrain, and through gaps and passes. A  marine layer around
1,000 feet will return tonight and ease fire  weather concerns.
Friday through Sunday will be similar with below normal
temperatures, diminishing onshore winds, and a modest  marine layer.

Most areas will be cooler today than Wednesday. Afternoon RH is
expected to be low again today in the eastern  portions of the area
(Trinity, eastern Mendocino, and Lake  Counties) could be as low as
the teens and 20s. RH is expected to be higher closer to the coast.
This afternoon breezy west-  northwesterly wind gusts of 20-30 mph
are expected again. Warmer  and drier weather returns Friday and
into the weekend. Winds will  generally be terrain driven with
typical afternoon west to  northwest breezes. There is a low
potential for thunderstorms next week as the monsoonal moisture
returns.
