Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central New Mexico...UPDATED
National Weather Service Albuquerque NM
847 PM MDT Mon Apr 16 2018

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM TO 9 PM MDT TUESDAY
ACROSS ALL OF NORTHERN AND CENTRAL NEW MEXICO DUE TO VERY STRONG
WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY...

.DISCUSSION...
Relative humidity recoveries tonight will be poor. Continued very
low relative humidity and very strong west to southwest winds Tuesday
will create extremely critical fire weather conditions for northern
and central New Mexico. Haines values between 5 and 6 across the
eastern plains and Middle Rio Grande Valley Tuesday will increase
fire weather risk. Though it will remain very dry Wednesday, lighter
winds will lower the fire weather threat. Breezy south winds on
Thursday will bring a quick return of critical fire weather
conditions to western and central New Mexico. Increasing moisture and
instability will bring the chance of thunderstorms to the eastern
plains late Thursday afternoon through Friday. Cooler temperatures
and higher relative humidity Friday will limit critical fire weather
conditions to a few hours across portions of south central and
southeast New Mexico.
