...BLOWING DUST WILL CONTINUE TO REDUCE VISIBILITY AROUND THE FOUR
CORNERS REGION...

Strong southwest winds will continue to buffet much of northwest
New Mexico through the late afternoon and early evening. Areas of
blowing dust are becoming widespread as indicated by satellite
and surface observations. Widespread visibility reductions of 3
to 5 miles will be common with localized areas as low as one half
mile. Areas that will be most prone to blowing dust and hazardous
visibilities will be near dry river beds, arroyos, and around open
construction fields. Blowing dust will impact U.S. Highways 491,
64, and 550, as well as state roads 371, 516, 170, and 511.

Motorists are urged to use caution, slow down, and avoid stopping
on roadways when encountering blowing dust. Pull completely off
of the road shoulder and take your foot off of the brake. Pull
aside, stay alive!
