At 950 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 20 miles west of Nara Visa to 8 miles east of
Tucumcari to 8 miles north of Fort Sumner. Movement was east at 30
mph.

Half inch hail and wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph will be possible with
these storms.

Heavy rain and frequent and dangerous cloud to ground lightning will
also be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Quay, Tucumcari, Logan, San Jon, House, Nara Visa, Ragland, Ute Lake
State Park, Wheatland and Forrest.

This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 332 and 370.

Frequent dangerous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these
storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek
a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 1100 PM MDT for
east central New Mexico.
