.DISCUSSION...

The majority of the day will be dry today, with a small chance for
showers or thunderstorm along the North Dakota/South Dakota border
late this afternoon and this evening. Warmer air will move into the
region on Friday, along with a better chance for strong, to possibly
severe, thunderstorms in the afternoon, mainly across central South
Dakota. Minimum relative humidity values this afternoon will be in
the 35 to 45 percent range.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the
probability of a fast moving fire is low.  Outdoor burning under
these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.


The outlook for Friday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.
