...HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Southeast winds 40 to 50 mph with gusts up to 75 mph
  possible. For the Anchorage Bowl, southeast winds 25 to 35 mph
  with gusts up to 55 mph possible.

* WHERE...Anchorage Hillside and western Turnagain Arm.

* WHEN...From Saturday morning through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...High winds could move loose debris, damage property,
  and cause power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially
  for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Two storm systems will produce two separate
  periods of strong southeast winds starting on Friday. Winds with
  the initial round on Friday are expected to be weaker. A stronger
  system will move into Southcentral Saturday, supporting a
  second round of much stronger winds from late Saturday morning
  to early Sunday morning.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A high wind watch means there is potential for a hazardous high
wind event. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates
on this situation. Fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a
safe location prior to the onset of winds.
