Broad upper level ridging will begin to build into place and
surface high pressure settles over the Southeast. Much drier
airmass will be in place and only passing high clouds. Northerly
winds today will be gusty at times with highs in the 60s to low
70s. Light winds and clear skies will allow temperatures to cool
into the mid 30s to lower 40s Friday morning. Patchy frost is
possible across the north. A little less in clouds on Friday, so
plenty of sun will allow temperatures to warm into the low to mid
70s.

(Friday night through next Tuesday)
Issued at 244 PM CDT WED MAR 27 2024

Upper level ridging flattens over the southern CONUS, allowing
for temperatures to moderate while the region remains rain free
through early next week. Expect highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s
Sunday and Monday.

The next chance of rain arrives Monday night and Tuesday, as
troughing moves across the southern Rockies and a front approaches
the area. Will cap chances at 50 percent for now.

VFR conditions of the short term with generally just some passing
high clouds. Winds will be gusty at times this afternoon with
northerly winds sustained at 10 to 12 kts. Winds calm tonight
between 3 and 6z.

.FIRE WEATHER...

A drier airmass settles over the area through the end of the week.
Minimum RH values will be in the 18 to 28 percent range this
afternoon and 18 to 28 percent Friday afternoon. Northerly
20-foot winds up to 10 mph are possible through Noon and should
gradually weaken through the day. 20-foot winds become
southwesterly Friday, with speeds less than 10 mph through the
day.
