Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southern New England
National Weather Service Boston/Norton MA
422 AM EDT Sat Aug 18 2018

.DISCUSSION...
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected today as a cold
front approaches southern New England. A few strong thunderstorms
are possible along with localized heavy rainfall. The front will
stall off the south coast, so the chance of showers will continue
through Sunday.

Minimum relative humidities today will range from 65 to 80
percent, then from 60 to 75 percent on Sunday, except up to 80 to
85 percent across eastern Rhode Island and southeastern
Massachusetts.

Outlook...Sunday night through Thursday...

The front will stall off the south coast with weak waves of low
pressure moving along it. This will keep the chance for showers
mainly from the Mass Pike southward into Monday morning.
Conditions will improve later Monday as high pressure builds south
out of eastern Canada. Low pressure and its associated front will
approach during Tuesday, with the best chance for showers and
thunderstorms Tuesday night into early Wednesday. The front pushes
offshore during Wednesday, with dry conditions Wednesday night
and Thursday.
