At 256 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Winsted to near Torrington. Movement was east at 30 mph. These storms contain torrential rain and gusty winds. Locations impacted include... Bristol, Windsor, Farmington, Simsbury, Bloomfield, Avon, Plainville, Suffield, Granby, Canton, Southwick, Burlington, East Granby and Hartland. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Do not drive through flooded roads or underpasses. Avoid low lying areas near small streams. Frequent lightning was occurring. Lightning can strike far away from the storm.
