.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Friday)

Mid level ridging builds over Deep South Texas today as surface high
pressure settles along the Lower Texas Coast. Light west winds this
morning will veer to the northeast this evening then southerly by
Friday morning. Today will be sunny and very comfortable with highs
in the mid to upper 80s, except for the 70s at the coast. Tonight
will be cool with lows in the 50s under clear skies. Near normal
temperatures continue on Friday with highs in the 80s. The Rip
Current Risk today through Friday will be moderate.

.LONG TERM...
(Friday Night through Wednesday)

Deep South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley will be under the
influence of high pressure in the middle layers of the atmosphere
throughout the period. This will produce dry weather across the
BRO CWFA with no chance of rain. Meanwhile, at the surface, the
pressure gradient will gradually intensify, leading to breezy to
windy conditions. In fact, the strength of the wind may reach WIND
ADVISORY criteria on Monday, with the most likely counties in the
WIND ADVISORY being Cameron, Willacy, Kenedy, and Hidalgo.

Temperature-wise, a gradual increase in daytime highs and
overnight lows is anticipated. The hottest highs are forecast to
be on Tuesday, as a weak cold front intrudes into the CRP CWFA and
produces a downsloping effect off of the neighboring high terrain
of Mexico.

Moderate to gusty north winds and clear skies prevail across Deep
South Texas early this morning. Winds are expected to decrease
overnight as high pressure continues to settle across the region.
Wind speeds will remain around or below 10 knots through the
period, generally out of the west to northwest early today then
shifting to the northeast by this afternoon. VFR conditions will
prevail for the next 24 hours.

.MARINE...
(Today through Friday)

A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for the Gulf waters
(0-60 nm) until 7 AM this morning. More favorable conditions will
develop today as high pressure settles across the area. Light to
moderate winds are expected to turn westerly around sunrise,
easterly by the evening and becoming southeasterly tonight. Low to
moderate seas will prevail today through Friday.

(Friday Night through Wednesday)
Small Craft Should Exercise Caution and Small Craft Advisory
conditions will prevail along the Lower Texas Coast during the
period courtesy of an enhanced pressure gradient over the western
Gulf of Mexico. The most adverse winds and seas are anticipated to
be from Monday through Wednesday.

.FIRE WEATHER...
(Today through Friday)

Much lighter winds and very low afternoon humidity (15 to 25
percent) will prevail across the region today. However, this will
lead to increasing fuel dryness and setting the stage for some
potential concerns Friday. The relative humidity is expected to
fall below 30 percent Friday afternoon with winds increasing to
15-20 mph. Therefore, a Fire Danger Statement will likely be
needed across much of Deep South Texas on Friday, except near the
coast.
