...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS CONTINUING THROUGH EARLY
EVENING...

* AFFECTED AREA: Zapata, Jim Hogg, Brooks, Starr, Hidalgo, Inland
  Kenedy, Inland Willacy and Inland Cameron counties.

* TIMING: Until 8 PM.

* 20 FOOT WIND: Southeast at 15 to 20 mph with gusts 25 to 20 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY: 17 to 22 percent from Brooks and Hidalgo
  County west to Zapata County and 22 to 30 percent in Cameron,
  Willacy, and Kenedy County along and west of IH-69E and U.S. 77.
  Humidity will rise above 30 percent after 6 or 7 PM along and
  east of IH-69C and U.S. 281.

* FUELS: Dry.

* IMPACTS: Weather conditions remain favorable for erratic
  wildfire growth and spread. Areas of most concern are along and
  west of IH-69C in Hidalgo and U.S. 281 in Brooks.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Outdoor activities that could inadvertently cause wildfires are
discouraged. Avoid parking vehicles or using welding or grinding
equipment near dry grass, brush, and weeds. Do not toss cigarette
butts on the ground.

Be sure to report wildfires quickly to the nearest fire
department or law enforcement office.
