This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

Southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph are expected
this afternoon. These winds could last through tonight as well.
Drivers of vans, campers, trailers, and other high profile
vehicles should be extra cautious, especially on east-west roads.

The strong winds combined with low relative humidity will lead to
elevated fire danger this afternoon, especially in agricultural
fields.

Showers are possible later in the evening and into the overnight.
An isolated lightning strike cannot be ruled out.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

Isolated thunderstorms are possible Tuesday with the main threat
being lightning and wind gusts to 50 MPH.

Thunderstorms are possible Thursday night into Sunday. The storms
on Friday have the potential to be strong to severe. However,
their strength is tied to the placement of a warm front and there
is uncertainty in where this front will be on Friday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed this afternoon or tonight.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

To the east at 10 to 20 MPH.
