.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 245 PM CDT Mon Apr 8 2024

Center of the country is split by two areas of low pressure- one
over Minnesota and the other over Texas. The system over Minnesota
is expected to lift northeast towards the Hudson Bay by mid-week.
Weak cold front associated with this system is expected to move
across the region tonight leading to a wind shift. Northerly winds
are expected to remain across region as region remains on the
northern periphery of intensifying low moving east across Texas
lifting northeast through the Mississippi Valley. As the pressure
gradient increases Wednesday night into Thursday, expect winds to
increase potentially gusting to near 40 knots on Thursday.

Surface ridge late week is expected to slide east of the area with
southerly flow developing Friday into the weekend. NBM is very
aggressive with warming and winds; however, timing of a frontal
boundary (which is a bit uncertain at this time), threatens the
amount of weekend warming.
