Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 4.77 miles Path Width /maximum/: 0 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/28/2024 Start Time: 06:25 PM CDT Start Location: 10 SSW Madisonville / Grimes County / TX Start Lat/Lon: 30.8151 / -95.9716 End Date: 04/28/2024 End Time: 06:37 PM CDT End Location: 5 SSW Madisonville / Madison County / TX End Lat/Lon: 30.8826 / -95.9534 Survey Summary: NWS storm survey found a damage path across portions of Northern Grimes and Southern Madison County, generally parallel to and west of SH 90 between Bedias and Madisonville. Most of the damage was rated EF0, mainly large limbs down, but there were some tress topped, uprooted, trunks snapped, suggesting EF1 as the rating for the worst damage. Damage to structures was limited with roof damage on a few homes, damage to a garage door. The damaged patch was along CR 115 in Grimes and along Union Rd in Madison County, generally from SSW to NNE. Spotters and chasers captured photos and videos of the funnel and tornado and posted online. && EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories: EF0.....65 to 85 mph EF1.....86 to 110 mph EF2.....111 to 135 mph EF3.....136 to 165 mph EF4.....166 to 200 mph EF5.....>200 mph NOTE: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to change pending final review of the event and publication in NWS Storm Data. $$
