In 1975, a violent F4 tornado struck Omaha Nebraska where three people were killed and 133 injured. The tornado struck late in the afternoon and moved northeast through the industrial and residential areas of the city. The tornado`s track was 10 miles long and around 440 yards wide. At the time, it was the costliest tornado in United States history with $250 million damage. && In 1930, a devastating F4 tornado cut a track 35 miles long that averaged just over one quarter mile wide in East Texas. The tornado nearly leveled the small town of Frost where 22 were killed. In all, 41 were killed and 200 injured by a tornado that was heard 10 miles away.A second F4 tornado with a track 20 miles long and around 300 yards wide struck Kenedy Texas, located in South Texas, where 36 were killed and 60 were injured. Homes of all sizes were swept from their foundations. Nine deaths occurred in one home. The bodies were scattered across adjacent fields as far as 300 yards. $$ Auto
