...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN CAMERON...
NORTHWESTERN JEFFERSON DAVIS...SOUTH CENTRAL BEAUREGARD AND CALCASIEU
PARISHES THROUGH 1000 AM CDT...

At 916 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Toomey, or 7 miles east of West Orange, moving southeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor
         objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Lake Charles, Sulphur, Cameron, Westlake, Vinton, Grand Lake, Moss
Bluff, Johnsons Bayou, Lake Charles Regional Airport, Sabine National
Wildlife, De Quincy, Hacketts Corner, Topsy, Lebleu Settlement,
Gillis, Edgerly, Holly Beach, Sweet Lake, Carlyss, and Buhler.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 8 and 41.
 Interstate 210 between mile markers 1 and 12.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
