...Record cold high temperatures across the area today...

The cold weather across southern Mississippi and southeast
Louisiana today will set records for the coldest high temperature
for the date at numerous locations. The official high temperatures
will not be established until midnight tonight, but here is the
latest information.

New Orleans International Airport has had a high of 42 degrees so
far. The previous record coldest high for the date is 50 degrees
set in 2014. Records have been kept there since 1946.

Baton Rouge Ryan Field has had a high of 40 degrees so far. The
previous record coldest high for the date is 47 degrees set in
1940. Records have been kept there since 1930.

Slidell Airport has had a high of 40 degrees so far. The previous
record coldest high for the date is 54 degrees set in 2014.
Records have been kept there since 1994.

McComb Airport has had a high of 37 degrees so far. The previous
record coldest high for the date is 45 degrees set in 1976.
Records have been kept there since 1948.

Gulfport Airport has had a high of 44 degrees so far. The
previous record coldest high for the date is 51 degrees set in
2014. Records have been kept there since 1998.

Pascagoula Airport has had a high of 45 degrees so far. The
previous record coldest high for the date is 51 degrees set in
2014. Records have been kept there since 1997.
