A cold front will drop southward across the Mid-Atlantic through tonight. A few additional thunderstorms are possible mainly in central Virginia this afternoon. The front will drop further south the first half of the week, likely reaching as far south as Florida by Tuesday night as strong high pressure builds in from the Northeast. This will lead to slightly cooler temperatures and lower humidity. As high pressure moves off the coast, heat and humidity, along with thunderstorm chances, return for the second half of the week.
