...TEST TORNADO DRILL THIS EVENING IN MINNESOTA...
...WISCONSIN EVENING TORNADO DRILL CANCELED...

Minnesota its conducting its evening tornado drill today at 645 pm.
The drill in Wisconsin has been canceled. The National Weather
Service is activating the Routine Weekly Test code on NOAA Weather
Radio for Minnesota counties. Many areas are activating their
outdoor warning sirens as well as sending out text messages or
emails for those who have signed up with their county or city.
Social media posts are also being sent. The tornado code will not be
used at all.

You may hear from local systems such as reverse 9-1-1 if you have
signed up, outdoor warning sirens, NOAA weather radio, TV, or other
methods. Take the time now to decide where you would take shelter.
Remember to plan for the various places you may be if a real warning
occurs. Also make sure you have at least two ways to get a warning.
Outdoor warning sirens are not enough and may not always activate or
be heard. Get a NOAA weather radio. Sign up for warning notices
through your local county or city.

The drills are part of Severe Weather Awareness Week in Minnesota
and Wisconsin. They are just a test to remind you of what you should
do if there was a real warning. For more information, check out our
website weather.gov or our social media pages.
