Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Nebraska/Southwest Iowa
National Weather Service Omaha/Valley NE
401 AM CDT Sun Apr 21 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Dew points in the 20s and high temperatures in the 60s will bring
relative humidities down to 20 - 25% this afternoon across the
entire region. Winds, however, will be 5 to 15 mph out of the
west. This will bring elevated fire danger to eastern Nebraska and
southwestern Iowa this afternoon, primarily between noon and 5 PM.
Warm and dry conditions are expected to continue tomorrow. Mixing
heights will range from 5000 to 6500 feet this afternoon and
tomorrow afternoon.

After 1 PM tomorrow, a cold front is expected to enter the region
from the northwest. Southwesterly winds will quickly become
northwesterly as this front moves through. The cold front should
be along the I-80 corridor by midnight tomorrow night.
