.OVERVIEW...Large swell generated by Typhoon Surigae over the
Philippine Sea will continue to impact the Republic of Palau and
western Yap State most of this week.

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR SOUTH...WEST AND NORTH
FACING REEFS...

South facing reefs...Hazardous surf of 9 to 11 feet will gradually
subside to between 7 to 9 feet by this evening. Surf should subside
further late tonight and might drop below hazardous levels by Tuesday
morning.

West and north facing reefs...Hazardous surf of 11 to 14 feet will
continue through this afternoon, then subside to between 10 and 13
feet this evening. Surf will remain at these levels at least through
Thursday before gradually subsiding toward this weekend.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Avoid venturing near reef lines facing south, west and north. Large
breaking waves can knock you down and cause serious injuries. Strong
rip currents can drag you out to sea. Swimming and snorkeling in
these conditions will be dangerous.

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR WEST FACING REEFS...

South facing reefs...Surf has dropped below hazardous levels earlier
this morning, which allows the advisory to be cancelled.

West facing reefs...Hazardous surf of 10 to 12 feet will persist
through Tuesday night, then spread to north facing reefs on
Wednesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Avoid venturing near reef lines facing west. Large breaking waves can
knock you down and cause serious injuries. Strong rip currents can
drag you out to sea. Swimming and snorkeling in these conditions will
be dangerous.

Continue to exercise caution near south facing reefs today as strong
rip currents are still possible.
