.OVERVIEW...Large swell generated by strengthening Tropical Storm
Surigae will cause dangerous surf for Palau and Yap through at least
Friday. Coastal inundation of 1 to 3 feet is expected for coastal
areas of Palau and 1 to 2 feet is possible for Yap. Highest risk
areas are those vulnerable during monsoon events.

REEFS...
...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING IS NOW IN EFFECT...
Dangerous surf of 13 to 15 feet will continue through at least
Friday. Surf will fall below dangerous levels Saturday, but will
remain at hazardous levels of 10 to 13 feet through the first half
of next week.
Inundation of 1 to 3 feet is expected for coastal areas, especially
areas vulnerable to monsoon swell events.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Do not venture out along south and west facing reefs. Huge pounding
waves can knock you unconscious and cause you to drown. Strong rip
currents will be life threatening.
Coastal roads may be flooded, especially at high tides. Residents
living along vulnerable parts of the north, west and southwest
coastline should be ready to take action to protect property.

*West facing reefs*
Dangerous surf of 12 to 16 feet will persist through Friday for
west facing reefs. Surf will fall again later this weekend but
will remain at hazardous levels of 10 to 14 feet through the first
part of next week.
*South facing reefs*
Dangerous surf of 12 to 16 feet will gradually subside late Friday
as the swell shifts to a more westerly direction. Surf may fall
below advisory levels of 8 to 12 feet late this weekend.
Inundation of 1 to 2 feet is possible for coastal areas vulnerable
to monsoon swell events.
