Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
413 AM MDT Sun Apr 28 2024

.Discussion...

Snow will taper off this morning. There will be showers and
thunderstorms developing by later today across the higher terrain,
which will move out into the plains by later in the evening.

Temperatures will be on a warming trend during the first half of the
week with drier conditions returning. Winds will increase with
critical fire weather conditions possible over the San Luis Valley
and portions of the plains on Tuesday. There will be critical fire
weather conditions again for the San Luis Valley on Wednesday, and
more widespread over the southeastern plains during the afternoon
and early evening hours.

There will be chances of precipitation over portions of the district
on Wednesday through Thursday, mainly northern areas and plains.
There will also be critical fire weather conditions yet again for
the San Luis Valley on Thursday, and again on Friday, although it
will be more spotty. On Friday and Saturday, there will also be
another quick shot of precipitation for some areas, and no critical
fire weather conditions by this period in the forecast.

Smoke dispersion will be overall Good to Very Good today across the
district. It will become Poor by later this evening and through the
night, and then return to being generally Good to Very Good for most
areas tomorrow.
