Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest Arkansas...
Northwest Louisiana...East Texas...and Extreme Southeast Oklahoma
National Weather Service Shreveport LA
234 PM CST Sun Jan 20 2019

.DISCUSSION...
Near to below freezing temperatures are expected over much of the
area tonight, as surface high pressure builds into the region.
A southerly return flow will commence in earnest Monday morning,
resulting in a modest warmup and increasing low level cloud over
over Lower East Texas and Westcentral Louisiana during the
afternoon. Min RH`s Monday will range from 35-40% across Southwest
Arkansas and North Louisiana, and from 40-50% across Southeast
Oklahoma and East Texas, with southerly 20ft winds of 10-15 mph
with higher gusts, especially over East Texas. RH`s will continue
to modify Monday night as temperatures slowly warm during the
overnight hours, with isolated to widely scattered areas of light
rain possible late over portions of East Texas, Northwest Louisiana,
Southwest Arkansas, and Southeast Oklahoma. Scattered to numerous
showers will increase Tuesday afternoon over the region, ahead of
a strong upper level trough and associated cold front that will
progress east into the Southern Plains Tuesday night and across
the area Wednesday. Rainfall amounts will range from a half inch
to in excess of an inch areawide, before colder and drier air
settle into the area behind the front`s passage Tuesday night/
Wednesday morning. A reinforcing cold front will move through the
region Thursday night, with a slight chance of showers returning
to the area by next weekend. With the initial front`s passage
by Wednesday morning, a prolonged period of below normal
temperatures are expected through the latter half of next week
into next weekend.
