.SHORT TERM...
(Today and tonight)
Issued at 448 AM CDT Tue Mar 26 2024

A broad trough will continue moving across the central US today.
This will leave relatively quiet weather in place across west
Central Texas. Current observations (445 AM CDT) shows many
locations in the middle 30s. So, it will be a cold start to the
day. However, light winds and plenty of sunshine should make for
a nice afternoon with highs in the 60s.

.LONG TERM...
(Tuesday night through next Monday)
Issued at 119 PM CDT Mon Mar 25 2024

A broad upper-level trough will continue to work its way through
West Central Texas through mid-week, followed by weak upper-level
ridging and zonal flow (west to southwesterly) from Thursday into
early next week. A few weak upper-level disturbances will track
across our area through Wednesday, keeping at least a small amount
of cloud cover over the area and very small chances for a rain
shower or two through Wednesday. Rain chances have been kept out
of the forecast for now because confidence remains low through
Wednesday. However, those chances do increase on Wednesday as a
stronger system tracks through the area on the western periphery
of the upper level trough as it exits eastward by overnight
Wednesday into Thursday morning.

From Thursday onward we are expecting mostly benign weather with
some warming temperatures, especially going into the weekend and
early next week where we can see high temperatures reach into the
80s and even 90s by Monday. The only caveat to this benign
weather pattern is the chance for another round of gusty winds on
Friday and Saturday under the aforementioned zonal flow across
West Central Texas.
