Monday through next Sunday. A quiet weather period will be in place through midweek with the weekend system moving east of us today and the next system is forecast to remain to our north. For us, that means dry weather, light winds, and warmer temperatures. For today, we will see some gusty northwest winds - mainly north of Las Vegas and also in the Morongo Basin in southcentral San Bernardino County. The northern parts of the Las Vegas Valley could also see some gusty northwest winds today. After a cool day across the region yesterday, temperatures today will be warmer but remain several degrees below normal. Tuesday, we will see high temperatures above normal and light winds. Further warming is expected for Wednesday but we will also see gusty southwest winds develop in parts of the area due to a system moving from the Pacific Northwest to the northern Rockies. More of the same for late in the week and heading into next weekend with high temperatures forecast to remain steady around 4-6 degrees above normal Thursday through Saturday. On Sunday, our forecast high in Las Vegas is 90 degrees based off the latest deterministic NBM. However, NBM probabilities for Sunday give us only a 40% chance of reaching 90 degrees given the relatively high with increasing model spread. Basically the same story applies to Death Valley and the generally low probability of it reaching its first 100 degree day. Regardless of what the high temperature ends up being, the weekend is expected to be a weather system free weekend.
