...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Unsettled weather with moderate onshore winds, elevated
  seas and tides.

* WHERE...Matagorda Islands, Brazoria Islands, Galveston Island
  and Bolivar Peninsula Counties.

* WHEN...Through Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...Minor beach and coastal flooding around times of high
  tide the next couple days. A high risk of rip currents along
  area beaches.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard and away from structures such as jetties,
piers and rocks.
