BRAINERD MN...

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR MAY WAS 61.9 DEGREES. THIS WAS 5.9
DEGREES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 56.0 DEGREES...MAKING THIS THE 4TH
WARMEST MAY IN STATION HISTORY. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR THE
MONTH WAS 94 DEGREES ON THE 29TH. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE WAS 32
DEGREES 20TH. THREE DAILY TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE BROKEN FOR THE
MONTH. ON THE 25TH THE RECORD DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 90 DEGREES
WAS SET. THIS BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 86 DEGREES SET IN 1980.
ON THE 26TH THE RECORD DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 92 DEGREES WAS SET.
THIS BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 88 DEGREES SET IN 1977...WHICH WAS
TIED IN 1988 AND 2014. ON THE 29TH THE RECORD DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE

PERIOD OCCURRED ON THE 29TH WHEN 0.73 INCHES WAS RECORDED. AT LEAST
A TRACE OF PRECIPITATION WAS RECORDED ON 15 DAYS. AT LEAST 0.01
INCHES OF PRECIPITATION FELL ON 9 DAYS. AT LEAST 0.10 INCHES FELL ON
5 DAYS. AT LEAST 0.50 INCHES FELL ON 1 DAY. NO DAILY PRECIPITATION
RECORDS WERE BROKEN FOR THE MONTH.

THE BEGINNING OF THE MONTH AND WARM TO THE LOW 80S BY THE END OF THE
MONTH. NORMAL LOWS BEGIN IN THE LOW 50S AT THE BEGINNING OF THE
MONTH AND WARM TO THE  MID 50S BY THE END OF THE MONTH. NORMAL
PRECIPITATION FOR JUNE IS 4.39 INCHES. THE LATEST CLIMATE PREDICTION
CENTER OUTLOOK INDICATES THAT ODDS ARE TILTED TOWARD ABOVE NORMAL
TEMPERATURES AND THERE IS NO CLEAR SIGNAL FOR ABOVE OR BELOW NORMAL
PRECIPITATION.
