THE MONTH OF MAY AT FARGO HECTOR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WAS WARMER
AND DRYER THAN NORMAL. THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS
63.6 DEGREES WHICH WAS 6.5 DEGREES WARMER THAN NORMAL. THIS LEAD TO
MAY 2018 BEING THE FOURTH WARMEST MAY ON RECORD IN FARGO. THE
WARMEST MAY ON RECORD WAS 1977 WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 66.5.
RECORD HIGHS WERE SET IN FARGO ON MAY 24, 25, AND 26. THE
TEMPERATURES THAT SET THESE RECORDS WERE 92, 93, AND 93. RECORD HIGH
LOWS WERE ALSO SET ON MAY 23 FOR A LOW OF 64 AND MAY 24 FOR A LOW OF
70. THE DAILY HIGHS WERE ABOVE NORMAL FOR 26 OF THE 31 DAYS THIS
MONTH WITH THE LAST 11 DAYS OF THE MONTH ALL BEING ABOVE NORMAL AND
WAS THE WARMEST PERIOD OF THE MONTH.

THE PRECIPITATION FOR MAY AT FARGO HECTOR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WAS
1.94 WHICH WAS 0.87 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. MOST OF THE RAIN FALL ON
MAY 17 WITH 1.14 INCHES OF RAIN RECORDED. TWELVE DAYS IN MAY
RECORDED SOME AMOUNT OF PRECIPITATION WITH FOUR OF THOSE DAYS
MEASURING MORE THAN A HUNDREDTH OF AN INCH.
