.NOVEMBER 2018 WAS COLDER THAN NORMAL AT HIBBING MN...

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR NOVEMBER WAS 19.5 DEGREES WHICH WAS 6.4
DEGREES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 25.9 DEGREES...MAKING THIS THE 4TH
COLDEST NOVEMBER IN STATION HISTORY. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR THE
MONTH WAS 42 DEGREES ON THE 3RD. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE WAS
-11 DEGREES ON THE 20TH. TWO DAILY TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE BROKEN
FOR THE MONTH. ON THE 18TH A RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE OF -2 DEGREES
WAS SET. THIS BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF -1 DEGREES SET IN 1989.
ON THE 19TH A RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE OF -10 DEGREES WAS SET. THIS
BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF -1 DEGREES SET IN 1964. EIGHT DAYS HAD
AVERAGE TEMPERATURES ABOVE NORMAL.

THE AVERAGE WIND SPEED FOR THE MONTH WAS 7.2 MPH. THE WINDIEST DAY
OF THE MONTH WAS ON THE 25TH WITH AN AVERAGE WIND OF 14.1 MPH. THE
HIGHEST SUSTAINED WIND OCCURRED ON THE 7TH WITH A SPEED OF 28 MPH
OUT OF THE NORTH NORTHWEST. A PEAK WIND GUST OF 33 MPH WAS RECORDED
ON THE 7TH AND THE 9TH.

THERE WERE 1356 HEATING DEGREE DAYS FOR THE MONTH WHICH WAS 183
ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 1173. THIS BROUGHT THE SEASONAL TOTAL TO 2747
WHICH WAS 243 ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 2504. THERE WERE 0 COOLING DEGREE
DAYS FOR THE MONTH WHICH WAS NORMAL. THE SEASONAL TOTAL COOLING
DEGREE DAYS STANDS AT 162 WHICH WAS 15 ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 177.

THE OUTLOOK FOR DECEMBER...NORMAL HIGHS BEGIN IN THE MID 20S AT THE
BEGINNING OF THE MONTH AND COOL TO THE UPPER TEENS BY THE END OF THE
MONTH. NORMAL LOWS FOR THE MONTH BEGIN IN THE SINGLE DIGITS ABOVE
ZERO AND COOL TO THE SINGLE DIGITS BELOW ZERO BY THE END OF THE
MONTH. THE LATEST CLIMATE PREDICTION CENTER OUTLOOK INDICATES THAT
THERE IS NO CLEAR INDICATION FOR ABOVE OR BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES
AND ODDS ARE SLIGHTLY TILTED TOWARDS ABOVE NORMAL PRECIPITATION.
THE LATEST CLIMATE PREDICTION CENTER OUTLOOK INDICATES THAT ODDS ARE
TILTED TOWARD ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND BELOW NORMAL
PRECIPITATION FOR DECEMBER.
