THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE IN NOVEMBER 2018 WAS BELOW NORMAL. IT WAS
THE COLDEST NOVEMBER SINCE 2014, WHEN THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS
41.8 DEGREES.

MONTHLY PRECIPITATION WAS 226 PERCENT OF NORMAL. THIS MADE NOVEMBER
2018 THE SECOND WETTEST ON RECORD. IT WAS THE WETTEST NOVEMBER SINCE
1963 WHEN 7.83 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION FELL.

MONTHLY SNOWFALL WAS 600 PERCENT OF NORMAL. THIS MADE NOVEMBER 2018
THE SIXTH SNOWIEST ON RECORD. IT WAS THE SNOWIEST NOVEMBER SINCE
1995, WHEN 3.6 INCHES OF SNOW FELL.

A DAILY RECORD PRECIPITATION TOTAL OF 1.32 INCHES WAS SET ON
NOVEMBER 2ND. THIS BROKE THE OLD RECORD OF 1.02 SET BACK IN 1967.

A DAILY RECORD PRECIPITATION TOTAL OF 1.50 INCHES WAS SET ON
NOVEMBER 15TH. THIS BROKE THE OLD RECORD OF 0.73 INCHES SET BACK IN
2007.

A DAILY RECORD SNOWFALL TOTAL OF 3.0 INCHES WAS ALSO SET ON NOVEMBER
15TH. THIS BROKE THE OLD RECORD OF A TRACE SET BACK IN 1995.

A DAILY RECORD LOW MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 34 DEGREES WAS TIED ON
NOVEMBER 23RD. THIS TIED THE OLD RECORD SET BACK IN 1989.

WEATHER RECORDS FOR THE DULLES VA AREA HAVE BEEN RECORDED AT WHAT IS
NOW WASHINGTON DULLES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT SINCE 1960. THE OFFICIAL
RECORD CONSISTS SOLELY OF DATA RECORDED AT THE AIRPORT. TEMPERATURE
AND PRECIPITATION RECORDS BEGAN IN 1960. SNOWFALL RECORDS BEGAN IN
1962.
