Stronger, gustier winds will extend farther inland beginning Friday
night as a low pressure system moves inland. Gusts up to 25 mph are
expected in low elevations and gusts between 25 to 30 mph continue
in elevated terrain and coastal areas. Winds briefly transition
southwesterly ahead of frontal passage with northwesterly flow
returning by mid to late Saturday afternoon. This incoming low
pressure system will bring below average temperatures in the upper
50`s to lower 60`s through the weekend. Beneficial rainfall is
expected with 0.5-1.0 inches generally expected throughout the Bay
Area and 0.2-0.5 inches throughout portions of the Central Coast.
Looking ahead, quiet weather and gradually warming temperatures are
expected heading into the work week as high pressure returns.

...Discussion from SFOFWFEKA...

One last day of dry weather and westerly breezes today before an an
unseasonably cold storm brings moderate to heavy rain tonight into
Saturday morning. Snow levels are forecast to rapidly fall behind
the front on Saturday with 1 to 4 inches of wet snow above 2500 to
3500 feet. Temperatures are forecast to cool down drastically this
weekend with subfreezing early morning temperatures in the mountains
and valleys of Trinity by Sunday. Temperatures will gradually
recover early next week, and will most likely remain below normal
before a warm up commences around mid next week.
