Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
357 AM EDT Thu May 9 2024

A front just to the south of the state will move northward through
the day, and touch off numerous showers and thunderstorms. The
first of the showers will move across southwestern PA this
morning, spreading gradually to the north and east. The eastern
end of the state will stay mainly dry until the evening hours.

Some heavier rain, small hail and gusty winds are possible out of
a few of the thunderstorms across southern PA during the afternoon
and evening.

Additional showers and a few thunderstorms are likely overnight
and Friday as an upper level low pressure system moves overhead.

Highs today will be noticeably cooler, by some 15 to 20 degrees
versus Wednesday, thanks to the clouds and rain. The temperatures
won`t get to 60 degrees in Erie, and only near 70 in Philadelphia.
Lows tonight will range from the mid 40s to lower 50s. Friday will
be the coolest day of the next many with highs only in the upper
40s to around 60.
