Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
430 AM EDT Sun Apr 28 2024

.DISCUSSION...
The risk of significant fire weather concerns is LOW over the next
few days.

South to southwest flow will prevail over the next few days. Each
day will see the typical diurnal increase in south winds along the
inland-moving seabreeze. Despite warming temperatures, low-level
moisture will also be increasing, which is expected to keep RHs in
the 30s and 40s. Scattered showers are possible (10-20% chance)
Tuesday evening, but the chance of wetting rainfall is low (<10%
chance). Despite modest mixing each day, winds aloft will remain on
the lower end, keeping vent rates low.
