...New AVIATION...

.SHORT TERM...
(Today and tonight)
Issued at 218 AM CDT Thu Apr 18 2024

Lingering patchy fog still remains possible across central,
southern and parts of southwestern Oklahoma, and portions of
western north Texas this morning. A cold front will continue to
move through the area, dropping temperatures in its wake.
Sustained winds of 20-25 mph with gusts of up to 40 mph are
possible through sunset. Mid to upper 60 dewpoints ahead of the
front, in addition to inverted V thermodynamic profiles, will
support strong to severe storms across portions of southern
Oklahoma this afternoon. The main hazards are damaging winds and
large hail. Cooler overnight lows are expected across the whole
area. Most locations will get down to the 40s, and far
northwestern Oklahoma may see temperatures drop down to the upper
30s.
