National Weather Service Pueblo Co

...Red Flag Warning is in effect for the San Luis Valley
from noon until 7 pm mdt on Friday...

.Discussion...

Gusty winds in the San Luis Valley will subside this evening,
then increase again on Friday, with Red Flag Conditions
returning for much of the day.

On Friday, most locations will see warmer temperatures, with
a chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms over the
mountains in the afternoon.

On Saturday, additional cooler air will overspread the entire
district. There will also be an increasing chance of showers over
a good part of the district.

Sunday it will once again start to warm up across the region, but
critical fire weather conditions are not anticipated.

Critical to near critical fire weather conditions may once again
return to the region early next week, especially across the San
Luis Valley and the southern I-25 corridor region.

Afternoon smoke dispersion will reach good or better levels
over most of the mountains on Friday and Saturday, while
eastern mountain slopes and the plains stay in the poor to
fair category.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
