...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 1992, a weak tornado developed in Dundy County Nebraska.
Although the twister was brief and caused only minimal crop
damage, it is noteworthy as the earliest in the year a tornado
has ever occurred in the Tri State area.

In 2000, high winds affected the Tri State area with wind gusts
generally between 60 and 80 mph throughout the day. There were
many fences down, shingles ripped off homes, windows
broken, and even some buildings collapsed with the intense winds.

In 2011, a storm system moved out of the Rockies dropping six to eight
inches of snow from Tribune and Leoti northeast to Hoxie. Elsewhere,
two to four inches of snow was common.
